The Haunted Historic Marker in Fort Wayne's West Central Neighborhood

The Haunted Historic Marker in Fort Wayne's West Central Neighborhood

Born: Nov. 22, 1810     Died March 29, 1857

US Congressman. Admitted to the Illinois (M. E. Conference) as a traveling Minister, and appointed to the Paoli Circuit in 1830.

Haunted historic marker?  Seems to be true.  In front of the Samual Brenton home at the corner of W.Wayne and Van Buren is a historic marker with a photo of the early 1800s Congressman.  In the winter, no matter how much it snows, within minutes the photo of Brenton will emerge from the snow cover.

After a few inches of snow the Samual photo is quickly thawed away. Note how evenly it follows the oval surrounding his picture.

After about 7 inches of snow in 2015 the Samual pic begins to emerge by the morning.

After 3 inches of snow, the photo of Samuel begins to emerge out of the snow.
